Tuesdays 530-730/ 8 weeks Intro to Wheel includes clay, kiln firings, tools, and glazes. Teaching the very basics of working with clay and throwing on the wheel. Intro is designed for complete beginners or someone looking to get back into clay. The overall goal is to build knowledge and confidence. While having a little bit of fun! The course is broken down into 8 sessions. Introducing and practicing techniques and learning studio protocol. Learning to prepare clay, work with clay, center, throw, trim on the wheel, and glaze. The class syllabus will be shared with you after sign-up. The course offers freedom to explore with guided instruction. Allowing you to create at your own pace. You are required to complete 2 Intro courses before advancing to the "Continued wheel course". This ensures that you have a solid knowledge of working with clay and studio management before the next step. Which is open studio access. 2nd intro course will cover handle making and attaching, lidded forms, combining forms, and surface design techniques. While strengthening your skills learned in the prior course.
