Intro to Wheel and working with clay

Service Description

Intro to Wheel work is a 9 week class covering the very basics of throwing. This course is for beginners (no experience necessary)! With small group instruction and the freedom to explore at your own pace. It's a great way to start learning the craft of throwing clay on the wheel. In the course we will cover the basics for working with clay and wheel throwing. -How to wedge clay -How to center clay on the wheel -Learn and practice basic wheel forms and techniques -Trimming on the wheel -Pulling and attaching handles -Working with clay in different stages; Soft, leather hard, bone dry, bisqueware. -Surface textures and design. -Glazing -Introduction to clay studio equipment and tools Course includes: Up to clay, glazes, kiln firing process, use of the studio and equipment, instruction, and shelf space for 9 weeks. $465

Cancellation Policy

If a class cancellation arises, a date will be offered for rescheduling. I'll try my best to accommodate everyone's needs. There will be only 1 make up opportunity for an unplanned absence. Class fee is non-refundable within 2 weeks of the starting course date.
